4 Ft Snow Stakes & Driveway Markers Built for Snow Plow Professionals
Discount Snow Stakes PRO Line 4 ft (48") snow stakes are the reflective driveway markers that commercial snow removal contractors, municipalities, and homeowners rely on winter after winter. Made in the USA, every stake is a solid 5/16" fiberglass rod topped with our 9" Xtreme Viz reflective band and an Armortech impact cap, so it goes in fast, stays visible all season, and comes out ready to reuse next year.
Why Plow Pros Choose Our 48" Snow Stakes
Thicker 5/16" solid fiberglass. Most big-box driveway markers are 1/4" rods. Our 5/16" stakes have 56% more material, so they flex under a plow blade and spring back instead of snapping, and they will never rot, rust, or splinter like wood or steel.
9" Xtreme Viz reflective tape. Half again as much reflective surface as the 6" bands on typical markers. Your drivers see the edge of the driveway from the cab, at night, in blowing snow.
Armortech cap. A molded impact cap protects the top of the stake when you drive it in with a mallet, so it won't split or mushroom during installation.
Pointed tip. Pushes into lawn, gravel, or hard-packed ground by hand; with a mallet it goes into frozen ground.
7 high-visibility colors. Orange, Green, Red, Blue, Yellow, Black, and Pink, so you can color-code properties, mark hazards, or match an HOA.
Made in the USA. PRO Line stakes are American made and sold direct by Discount Snow Stakes, not imported big-box rods.
Multi-season value. Pull them in spring and reuse them for years. Many customers use the same stakes as garden stakes, lot markers, and septic or sprinkler-head markers in summer.

Where to Use 48" Driveway Markers
Residential driveways, walkways, and lawn edges
Commercial parking lots, curbs, and islands
Fire hydrants, drains, culverts, mailboxes, and septic covers
Snow plow routes, salt bins, and staging areas
Property lines, utility markers, and landscape beds
How to Install Snow Stakes
Set stakes every 8 to 10 feet along the driveway edge and at every corner, obstacle, and turn.
Push the pointed tip into the ground by hand; on hard or frozen ground, tap the Armortech cap with a rubber mallet.
Install before the first freeze so the ground is still soft, and keep the reflective band facing the direction your plow approaches.
4 Ft Snow Stakes FAQ
Is 4 ft tall enough?
48" is the most popular length for driveways and lots that typically see snowbanks up to about 2 to 3 feet. For heavy lake-effect regions or commercial plow stacking, step up to our 5 ft snow stakes.
Will they survive being hit by a plow?
Solid fiberglass bends and springs back. A direct hit from a blade can damage any stake, but 5/16" fiberglass outlasts 1/4" rods, wood, and plastic by a wide margin.
Are these the same stakes sold at Home Depot or Lowe's?
No. Big-box driveway markers are typically 1/4" rods with 6" reflectors. The PRO Line is a thicker 5/16" rod with a 9" reflective band, sold at contractor pricing.

With the heavy heavy snow loads we get in the lake Tahoe region, I could use a thicker product. The other thing I would recommend is a more reflective tape the same color as the pole
