There are so many different kinds of driveway markers available now. From the big box stores to independent snow stake companies like us, there seems to be an infinite amount of fiberglass driveway marker choices. In the video, you can see the 3 most important reasons that you should pick a marker with high quality fiberglass.

 

First off, you want both flexibility and durability with your driveway markers. Fiberglass is a unique material that allows for both of those attributes. In the video, you can see that the competitors snow stakes start to crackle when they are pushed in the Discount Snow Stakes U test. This is a good indicator that the fiberglass is a lower quality and not our G19 Grade fiberglass. 

Another important reason to make sure you get a good quality fiberglass driveway marker is splintering. If you only have to install a couple, this isn’t that big of a factor, but for bigger companies that must put thousands into the ground, fiberglass splinters can be a significant pest. Out of the 4 major competitors that we tested, all came back with significantly higher splintering. Discount Snow Stakes driveway markers came back with minimal splintering. This is a tough one to quantify, so we simply asked our neutral snow removal testers to rate the splintering 1-10, 10 being the worst splintering. Overall, you can get away with using a lower grade fiberglass for your driveway markers. If breakage isn’t a huge issue for you and you use gloves during installation, you will be ok. The main point is the price difference though. Even hunting online will only yield a few cents difference between the best fiberglass markers you can get and the cheapest driveway markers online.
