When we first started up in the snow stakes business, companies really only wanted orange and yellow markers, that’s it. As the years went on snow plow companies wanted to be able to customize their stakes more and more. Blue driveway markers have become one of our most popular colors. There are a few really good reasons to consider using blue snow stakes.
First off, the blue is easy to spot in a snow storm. I would describe the blue as deep and kind of fluorescent. In the fall when there is no snow on the ground, I think the blue actually blends in with the landscape. This makes the stakes less intrusive pre snow storm. When the snow hits, the blue really stands out making the driveway markers very visible to the snow plow driver.
The second reason I think blue driveway markers are so popular is just the color itself. People love blue, I know I do, so, a lot companies choose to have blue in their logo or part of their brand. It is professional and unique to match your snow stakes to your company colors and I think it is just good for business.
The third reason is to mark water sources or areas. Companies could mark fire hydrants with blue stakes, storm drains, culverts or any other water based area. Staking and using colors to mark certain things has become more popular over the years and I think it is very helpful in identifying the key areas on a property.
Blue driveway markers are still relatively new which means you will stand out from every other plow contractor who uses standard orange. Overall, they are a great addition to your stakes collection if you want to stand out from the crowd!
