Snow storms are an awesome sight! There is nothing better than sparkly snow flakes falling and creating a beautiful blanket of snow. Then… you have to get rid of the snow so you can go to work and live your life! So this begs the question, should I use a snow plow or a snow blower for my property’s snow removal? Let’s go over a few factors of each method and then decide which is better, snow plowing or snow blowing.
Price – Let’s start with the important factor of cost. If you want to have your driveway or property taken care of by a snow plow contractor, this is going to be the most expensive option, but also, by far and away the easiest. If you are looking to purchase a snow plow on your own, you can get a small used plow for under $1000 bucks if you do your research and find a good deal. A new plow is expensive $$$$. A good reliable snow blower is $500 – $1000. So the cost difference to purchase a snow plow v a snow blower isn’t really that crazy for your snow removal.
Time – When considering how long it takes to snow blow a driveway vs snow plow the driveway, it’s not even close. It is much faster to plow snow than to snow blow. Like a million times faster.
Inside Or Outside – What is better? Getting rid of your snow while in a toasty heated truck, or being outside in the freezing cold catching snow drifts to the face? In my opinion, being inside a truck snow plowing vs being outside snow blowing is the superior option
Overall, snow plowing is about a hundred times better than shoveling snow. However, when compared to snow plowing, snow blowing doesn’t stand a chance. It’s always best to let snow removal pros handle the plowing etc, but if you have a choice between snow plowing yourself or snow blowing, make the investment and get the snow plow!
